What Is Powder Coating?  

Powder coating, sometimes referred to in the Czech Republic as Komaxit, is a modern metal finishing technology that creates a uniform, durable and visually appealing surface.

The powder-coated finish helps protect metal against corrosion, mechanical damage and environmental exposure. It significantly extends the service life of the product while enhancing both its final appearance and functional properties.

This technology meets demanding quality standards while providing a more environmentally considerate approach to metal finishing.

Our Powder Coating Process

Proper surface preparation is the foundation of a high-quality and long-lasting powder-coated finish. We begin by thoroughly removing dirt, grease and other unwanted layers from each component. Depending on the material and condition of the product, we use an appropriate chemical or mechanical pre-treatment to ensure excellent coating adhesion and maximum durability.

The powder coating is then applied electrostatically to the prepared component. The product is subsequently cured in an oven at approximately 170–210 °C, depending on the type of powder coating, material and required finish.

After cooling, the finished surface undergoes a quality inspection. We can also package the completed products in protective film, bubble wrap or boxes, or secure them on pallets ready for transport.

Where required, we can arrange sandblasting, chemical stripping or another suitable method of removing old coatings from aluminium and steel components through specialist partners.

What We Powder Coat

We powder coat steel, aluminium and other metal components suitable for powder coating application and subsequent curing in an oven.

Typical products include aluminium pergolas and profiles, retail shelving and display systems, fences, gates, railings, alloy wheels, hollow sections, sheet-metal parts, welded assemblies, doors, metal furniture, shopfront and display structures, decorative cladding for industrial buildings, components for robotic systems, technical parts and metal home accessories.

We handle one-off components, custom-made products, prototypes, small production runs and recurring series production.

The maximum dimensions of a component are approximately 8,500 × 2,000 × 2,000 mm. Depending on the shape of the product and the required suspension method, components exceeding these dimensions by a few centimetres can also be assessed individually.

Colours and Surface Finishes

We offer an extensive selection of colours and shades based primarily on the RAL, RAL Design and NCS colour systems. Upon request, we can also provide transparent coatings and special-effect finishes with a chrome, zinc, copper or other decorative appearance.

When selecting the appropriate powder coating, it is important to specify:

– the required colour or shade,

– a gloss, semi-gloss or matt finish,

– a smooth surface or a fine or coarse texture,

– whether the product is intended for indoor or outdoor use.

Colours can be selected in person at our powder coating facility, where a wide range of physical colour samples is available. Alternatively, you can provide us with the exact colour code and manufacturer or send us a photograph as an indicative reference.
